My entry for the CODA Art Museum Challenge

Niets is wat het lijkt.

(Nothing is what it seems).

A matchbox? A box of matches? Or more than that? I like to keep them. The small boxes with the black swallow that often end up in the trash can! It’s nice to keep things in. But also fun and special enough to put in the spotlight!

As a jewelry object. Along with the delicate little wooden sticks that once had been a huge aspen tree! And the beautiful black swallow.

A lightweight and comfortable to wear necklace with a swallow brooch closure made out of sterling silver. It fits perfectly inside a common matchbox. Or may be not so common? Worth taking a closer look.

Maybe, just maybe, this is the one swallow that does make my summer.
